"Has built in panniers as standard (each will take a good sized lunch box, but not a helmet)"

......each will take a good size lunch box.......:) surely this is a first in bike advertising blob :)

I was trying to persuade son #1 to buy this Steve but he wants to stick with his shagged and knackered XT660 Ten. All he does is commute and this would be ideal. But youth always know best :rolleyes2:

Commuting is all Adams done on it for the past 12 months. 8k miles at around 58mpg average, according to Adam.

I'll consider the XT in part ex if he's interested! Your lad rides north on a thumper, south on a silky twin :D

If you weren't so feckin' far away and the fact I wouldn't be able to get road tax for it (cannot do it on anything other than UK insurance, apparently) I might have had that.

Ho hum.

try A2B Motorcycle movers. They just picked up my sons fire blade to deliver to its new owner in cornwall. £150 + VAT and delivered in two days (buyer paid). Nice guy, very professional and well secured bike. He had just come from Stranraer where he had delivered bikes to the ferry for shipping onto Ireland. They are up and down the whole country regularly.

There is that. But, where's the fun in that? The new road tax rules really have b*ggered things up.

I'd probably use a bike mover for a really, really "must have" bike. But, since I don't know what the "must have" bike is, it's all a bit academic.

Now, if I found a bike in the "North" I'd probably chance the run home and feign ignorance.

And use some back roads........ ;)

Lutin,

Check out Teds Trucking. He sponsors the Paddy Dakar and I discussed bike transport with him last year. He is always moving machines around the UK & Ireland.

Mates rates for the machine are less than shown on Gumtree by £150, if that helps ;)

GULP :eekicon: :eekicon: :eekicon:

Exactly.

As I said earlier for that money it would really, really have to be the "the one".

Edit: Mind you, for what it is, mileage, condition etc, it would still be cheaper than most of the examples on sale here in the Republic - and that includes adding on the dreaded VRT that we are forced to pay.
