The 2019 will be held in the Yorkshire Dales.

Usha Gap Caravans & Camping > Home

Dates will be 5/9/19 - 8/9/19.

We will have our own field, fires are allowed.
All booked and sorted.

I would suggest fuelling up and buying food and drink on the way in from Kirkby Stephen, Leyburn, Hawes.
There is a pub in the village that does food, it's about a 10 minute walk.
The field is ours all week from the 2nd to the 8th so anyone can turn up early.
There is a village show on Wednesday the 4th.

If SWMBO doesn’t book an away-day for our wedding anniversary over that weekend, I’m in

Micky - the location was chosen over a dram or 3 last month . Really surprised Simon remembers it being sorted !

No, I take that back - Simon was less drunk than some others, so well done you Si for getting the ball rolling

PS - please don’t book the site in Dent that makes you use crampons just to get to the bogs

The reason I didn't come this year was because it was an eight hour run if you kept mainly on motorways.

I thought the idea was to move the national around the country, at the moment it's being hogged by you pesky northerners

Why Yorkshire. Can't we find somewhere a little more central. It was on the edge of the known world this year.
To be honest Mike if John hadn't decided to celebrate Geoff's life there probably wouldn't of been a national this year.
It was decided to find a site book it and let everyone know.
The Skipton area is fairly mid country for everyone.
The forum is very quiet and there's not a lot of interest in organising anything or its the same few doing the organisation.

Have to agree with you about the organising, unfortunately that's a fact of life whatever the organisation.

See nearer the date whether I'll suck it up and ride 4 hours on a m/way. It's not the distance it's the fact it's got to be a motorway :(

There's loads of options for getting from down your way with only a small bit of motorway. The North West Posse down to the Welsh Invasions only used the M6 & M56 to get round Warrington really, and then after that it was brilliant roads all the way down to Pembrokeshire and back. A483, A49 are good roads to get along the borders and North and get you to Warrington not much slower than a boring motorway run. 50-60 miles of M56/M6 are pretty much essential now until the turn off at Preston for the A59 to Skipton (not the best A road admittedly) but waaaay better than a motorway (or if you want I can give you the best back lane route ever from Preston to Skipton - ask Stuart after next weekend, he will be up here hopefully following some of my suggested routes).

South Wales to Yorkshire would make a lovely non (minimal anyway) motorway run Mike.
Time constraints? 4 hrs motorway isn't the end of the world several of us had that or more motorway coming back this year plus the 4 or five hrs from Achiltibuie & down the A9.

Be a little adventurous with that GSA!

Cheeky git.

If im going to do 4/5 hours motorway that would put me well into a bit of continental riding. What a choice Yorkshire or continental, needs thinking about.
