ABR festival

I keep getting emails from ABR magazine about this event so decided to read up on it properly and decide if we were going to go or not. I can barely get past the cost - £79 each for the weekend. That's £158 for the two of us. £39 each just for the day. And then there was the glamping tents - £400 ish for two nights - on top of the entry.

Am I missing something (like a free bar and buffet)? Has anyone been before and found it to be tremendous value for money and the best weekend of their life, coz it would have to be to pay that much just to stare at some trade stands and queue for a short test ride. Even the list of speakers isn't that inspiring.

Hi Austin,
In answer, I've been to three previous ABR annuals ( including the first one in a farmers field with one porta and an ice-cream van selling booze !) I've found them to be a welcome break from city life. On each occasion there has been great on site facility's with off road tracks and some other stuff going on too. I've normally gone just for the riding and meeting up with a few faces I know ( good night party's as well but I'm not a boozer so not so much for me.) Main thing is I've always bought my tickets early at a proper sensible price which make it worth it in my eyes. With supposedly a thousand tickets sold for this one, if nothing else it should be interesting ? I guess 79 quid is the price you pay. I was given a £45 ticket for a day at Santa Pod two weeks ago. I went but never again, it's not my cuppa and I'd have been f*cked right off paying the ticket !
One night in Holiday in.....£100 and you get and evening in with a toilet and a sink is one way to look at it ? :ridebumps:

I am going, I paid £39 for my ticket as they were selling at a reduced rate when it was first announced. Will i like it as much this year ? that remains to be seen as it may have got too big, i enjoyed when it was just in the field.

£39 each for the weekend would have ok. But £79 is taking the pee I think. We have decided we aren’t going.

I hardly go on abr these days anyway. The website doesn’t render properly on my computer or phone properly making it difficult to navigate.

yep got an early bird discount too.....went last year for the first time and it was really good fun, this year promises to bee much bigger and I hope that it doesn't spoil the proper rally atmosphere of the previous one.....still very much looking forward to it!

My AT & Dommie are all polished up to be sold and ready for advertising, so I'll be there instead on a very dirty Black Buell Ulysses with panniers wide enough to block the Panama canal and tyres you could call slicks !..very off road. Look out for me folks.

My tent has been unused and in a bag for severals years now. Rain looks likely, is it still going to be waterproof do you think ?

I claim the fifth amendment.
Was good to catch up with old friends and make some new ones.
Tony, they didn't see us because we were the quiet ones in the corner
and the whiskey is called peaky blinders for a reason.
