I thought that Phil, if it does come out looking like this, I'd better start making room in the garage.

That's not bad... :)

Can't help wondering though how many of the claims in that piece are utterly made up.

50 kg lighter than a 1200 GS? That would be less than 200 kg then, ready to go. It'd be cool if they pulled it off, but Hondas of old have usually gone the other way... Nice, but heavyish. ;)

50 kg lighter than the 1200GS would put it in the 180kg category if they are comparing it with the new watercooled GS. If they meant the outgoing air / oil cooled model then they are down at 150kg

Seems a bit ambitious, doesn't it? Then again they have pulled that sort of stunt before with the fireblade, who knows. A fireblade isn't likely to have 25 kg of TT-tat added though. ;)

Hmm, looked up some numbers. Those 1200GSes really are lighter than I expected. Not even much heavier than my old banger. (No wonder they break all the time )

Getting 50 kgs off that would mean it weighing about as much as a dominator. Good luck with that... Imagine that though. A Dominator with a 1 liter 100bhp+ engine. :D
