More interference from EU bureaucretins

I have Real Rider on my phone, as long as it is active and the phone is in my pocket.
It gives a route map that can be saved for others to use, it also in the case of an accident can dial 999 for emergency help.
It gives the location of the phone, hence it being in the riders pocket, ideal if you get thrown into a field or a distance from your bike.

I drive for a living and I can tell you now that belonging to the bloated, corrupt EU is one of the worst things this Country has done in it's history.

Licence wise it's an absolute mess. They keep changing the Law on Drivers Hours yearly and don't get me started on the Working Time Directive!! It used to be simple, and even with the EU legislation was understandable. Then the Working Time Directive came in which directly conflicts with the EU Drivers Hours and Domestic Drivers Hours Legislation. Now I have to comply with three sets of regulations that make trying to earn a living harder and harder.

Look at the Motorcycle Licence. There was a time when you took a test and then you could ride any sized bike you liked. Then they brought in the "Restricted Licence". This in my view was actually quite sensible. I passed my test in 1997 so came under this. You passed your test and was restricted for two years to 33BHP. No hardship there, just put up with a moderately powered bike for two years then when the restriction was lifted "Bob was indeed your Uncle" and you could get a bigger bike. Now look at the mess were in! Hardly anyone actually knows what the law is anymore as it's become too complicated to understand. Then as soon as you think you understand it they change the bloody regulations again and your back to square one.

No guesses are required to know that I hate the EU and it's corrupt ideology. Look at most of the EU Countries now. Greece, Spain, Italy etc. Riots in the streets as there are people that can't feed themselves due to their Governments signing up to a Single Monetary Union that is a "One size fits all" disaster. France, Denmark, Germany etc are all seeing the rise of the far right due to the EU's undemocratic Big Brother incompetence. It feels like there is absolutely no aspect of our lives that they don't want to control.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the European Elections results will be. However knowing the EU has a reputation of not accepting democracy, they will probably just ignore what the public says and want to press ahead regardless.

I know 2 people that own motorcycle training schools and both say they same. That they have never been busier than they are at the moment in summer or winter. There is a huge demand for motorcycle licences and the restrictions are not putting people off in any way shape or form.

The reality is that the recent report by the House of Commons Transport Select Committee has stated unequivocally that the number of tests for the A and A2 motorcycle licence has halved since EU harmonisation of driving licence regulations and this will have a 'disastrous effect on the future of the motorcycle industry in the UK'.

You are entitled to express your opinions on the matter but may I suggest you would garner more respect if you checked on the facts first, and also refrained from resorting to abuse?

I have just read your post and still can't find any evidence to support your claim about current a lack of current motorcycle tests being taken. I read your claim anout the commoms transport select comittee and went to their website to read this report and all i can see is one that dates back to 2009-2010 which is nearly 5 years old and would also coincide with the start of the recession getting serious. So i stand by my point that you are making a generalisation until you can supply proof that you your not making generalisation by supply more current and upto date and accurate data...

How did this whole thread get so far off topic? this thread was started with the topic of you not wanting to be tracked while on the road

There seemed to be two substantive concerns about the emergency SIM card gizmo; correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sure you will.

1. Complexity. I agree with that cars are pretty complex already, but many will have the wiring loom for this already, so it's just a requirement to fit the gizmo to all rather than some vehicles.

2. Tracking. The idea that "they" will be able to track your every move. Of course "they" will be able to track your VEHICLE'S every move... but to know where YOU are the phone in your pocket would give "them" a better idea.

Frankly, if you're concerned about Big Brother monitoring, then the EU may be your best ally against the UK's excesses. GCQH can and does store your emails, chats, video chats, web access, and social media activity under the Brtish end of Prism just in case it'll be useful one day. GCHQ monitors EU citizens too, which makes the UK the pariah of Europe when it comes to invasions of privacy.

If I told you that China or North Korea did these things, you'd say it proves how their systems oppress their down-trodden people. Well it's happening here and now.

I agree with everything you've put up their. Agreeing to be tracked volunterily by signing up to a phone contract, internet contract, credit card, debit card, buying a car with inbuilt sat-nav all these things track what you are doing even tv tracks what you are doing to work out ratings. So when you do all this quite happily without question or worry it only make you look like a hypocrit when you complain and cry civil liberties about something new just because you don't like the idea of if or it doesn't suit you. Your either happy to be tracked in which case carry on with normal life, if your not go and become a hermit somewhere because it's not going away thats for sure.

If signing up to this bike tracking thing prooved you were in the right and travelling at correct speed in an when an incident occured you would be glad you had it to get your insurance payout, if it showed you were doing 110mph in a 30mph zone you'd be pissed off with it. If your not doing anything wrong you aint got anything to worry about
