    V and 'the big C'

Wow that is fantastic news Paul, we've heard of lots of positive stories but this does sound particularly remarkable. Let's hope Lynn's health and strength continues to move in the right direction x

    National 2025 – Balloch O Dee Campsite, Newton Stewart, Dumfries & Galloway – 4-7th Sept 2025

It's looking unlikely that I'll be able to make this, the site were good enough to refund my deposit for the little caravan named Bluebell There is still a bit of me secretly hoping to make a fleeting visit but that will depend on how things are at the time.

    V and 'the big C'

Thanks guys, tbh, it's not the chemo that is the scary part, it's the de-bulking surgery in the middle of it, it all sounds pretty horrific. We stopped reading when part way through what is involved. Still, at least treatment is being offered and with that, brings hope.

    V and 'the big C'

To say 2025 has been somewhat challenging is a bit of an understatement. We've had to say final farewells to 6 friends & family between Jan to June, we were hoping for a bit of an upturn for the second half of the year but that was not to be the case... V has been a bit under par...

    New bike….

This is the NTV650, predecessor to the Deauville confusingly named the nt650v. The NTV is an utterly fantastic bike, simple rugged fun brilliance, the 650 Deauville is in a class of one and, err, good at what it does!

    New bike….

Thanks for the info Austin, I must admit, the NTV 650 was better in many respects than the '18 reg 750 V7, frumpy looks aside To be fair, all v7s are well out of my nominal 1-1.5k price range anyway so it'd have to really really blow me away to squeeze any extra £££s out of my clenched white...

    New bike….

Nice trio Austin, I've been having a Guzzi itch for some time now, I did try a V7 some time ago but it banged & jarred like a jack hammer so it put me off a bit, it may have been just that particular bike. I may try another one sometime in the future

    National 2025 – Balloch O Dee Campsite, Newton Stewart, Dumfries & Galloway – 4-7th Sept 2025

To be fair Steve, after the 2025 yr we've had so far, I don't give a flying f what anyone thinks.. If I want to stay in a caravan called Bluebell, I bloody well will do.

    Weight of accessories ect

It's surprising how bits and bobs add up, add all your stuff & yourselves & compare in horror to the generally measly manufacturers payload. I went through this back in 2008 before we set off for Greece (2up, camping), If I recall correctly, we were around 50kg overweight, so only a smidge...

    National 2025 – Balloch O Dee Campsite, Newton Stewart, Dumfries & Galloway – 4-7th Sept 2025

I don't enjoy crawling in & out of a soggy tent on my hands & knees so much nowadays so I've booked the Bluebell caravan Thurs - Sun Happy to go halves (substantially more if you come banging on my door in the pishing rain) Undecided which bike I'm taking yet.

    A Return.

Hi Jim, that was me and Paul/Bimbler that called in, en route to staying over on Paul's rather lovely yacht in Stranraer (Stranraer, STRANREAR) the rain and wind was quite biblical, we managed to time the trip with some storm or other. (flooding, trees down, roads closed the whole kaboosh). From...

    New bike but...,

What a crock of sh!te Rick. It's crap like that that makes me not want to buy a new bike (or anything really). Hope you get sorted - there's got to be a far better solution than waiting until September.

Where to visit in middle England

You can't go far wrong in the area south of Edinburgh & North of Leeds, there's quite a large, varied & relatively unspoilt chunky of countryside between those points to explore. D&G/Scottish Borders/Northumberland is pretty much all great. There's Hadrian's wall & even bits of the coast North...

    2024 BT National

Thank you Deb for arranging everything (plus anyone else helping in the sidelines) & doing the legwork. Paul S for sorting the marquee & Fridays ride into Wales. The site was brilliant with great hosts & a guy swelling BBQ on Saturday. Baz & I gut truly drenched as we neared home. I'd like to...
