I have Warm and Safe heated inner gloves. They plug into wrist cuff of my Warm and Safe heated base layer. Both independently and remotely controlled by a wireless controller. The gloves aren’t toasty hot and I always have them on max under a thin pair of waterproof gloves but used in...
I’m away in the camper an in a few days for a few weeks. Will look into this when I get back. But much to do this year and so little time it seems.

ok, ok, ok retired and everything gets done snails pace.
too much hassle to organise a forest ride not least because my contact there (the ever obliging Archie) has retired plus I was winging it a bit with the liability insurance which they were about to clamp down on.
A camp and blast around the roads though. Hmm, maybe.
dry and mild day today so I was out on the bike for a rare solo ride which meant it was a bit easier to get a wiggle on along some country lanes. Which also meant I could have a think about how I ride. Well, I don’t do that^^^^^ but I do trail brake. What a revelation. Although I do try to...
Oh, So nothing to do with Trail riding then. I was expecting something adapted from slippery tracks like 50/50 f&r to prevent front wheel lock up or whatever, not just late braking.
On the rights and wrongs of this I have no idea. I would say I’m generally off the front brake before I have...
I’m pretty sure the whole two finger braking thing started in Bike magazine back in the early 80s where it was used a descriptor for how good the brakes were (what with them new fangled disc brakes just starting to get good) rather than advice on how to use your front brake. It subsequently...
i guess different stoves may behave differently as mine gets through meths like an old tramp. Despite rather liking it I tend to use the gas adapter far far more. It’s just so convenient although when travelling gas canisters aren’t always easy to find. In Europe Decathlon is your best bet...
All that stuff has four purposes: burner holder, pot support, wind break ( it actually improves performance in windy weather) and part of the packing system. It adds a bit weight but not much volume and makes for a very stable cooking setup.
With a Trangia you have the option of a gas or...
its probably safest to count us out for this year. I’m not sure what we’ll be doing but the chances are we will be either motor biking or camper vanning somewhere. If not we will take our chances on availability or access to the site. Have a great time all.
HNY John. You do take it rather seriously in Scottishshire. We are on our own recovering from an equally serious serious Christmas week with “friends” who seem to want to poison my liver. I can’t take anymore. Slainte
I got an Indian single malt whisky in my Christmas hamper. I can’t help...
Bloody hell and very sad news. I am deeply shocked. I got on really well with Andy. Great bloke. Anne is almost in tears.
If I remember correctly he had got Hodgkinsons Lymphoma about 7-8 years ago. I went up to meet him after he got the “all clear” although I believe it’s a thing you...
If it really works it should be good for tyres like Heidenau K60 scouts with really stiff tyre walls.
I wonder if it works to remove a tyre as well. The hardest bit would probably be wiggling the cable tyres under the beads assuming you can break them in the first place.
We have watched the new Itchy Boots series in India on the new RE Himalayan just recently. The last episode yesterday included a review by Ms Boots of the new bike compared to the old one.
The new bike looks good and is a huge upgrade on the old one. But I didn’t realise how low powered...
Well hello Cabbage. One’s French the other Chinese although I suspect the French will be half Chinese. I wouldn’t have a clue about the merits of either but on principle of trying not to buy too much Chinese stuff I’d go for the Citroen. There’s enough of them on the road that they can’t be...
