A Picture a Day

Always fun watching the gliders take off.

It was a bit nippy this morning:

The night too. My gear didn't entirely cope.

Daytime 20 deg C. Nighttime, well.

Also, um

The old cow likes euro98 petrol. I knew I was running low, but thought on my way south I could just make it to Germany where it’s cheaper. And then you hit second reserve (bmw, one tap per tank cheek) as you’re on the motorway to the border. Germany on your last liter or so is not great so I stopped for fuel at the last Dutch pump on the border. That hurt a bit.

Didn't know they did Hi-Viz vests that small Si :thumbsupanim:

I've seen the FB piccies of your little ride on the new wheels. :clapping: How aching was your face from all the smiling? :thumbsupanim:
Did you ride up onto Stalling Busk from the north or the south? I haven't done the southern access for many years and back then it was a loose as hell

Came up from Carpley Green for a change. The rock steps at Cray have been gone a good few years now.
Smiles per mile

20 years ago today I bought a ratty old GS:

Some of its parts are still going strong, even though technically it's no longer the same bike. (New frame.)

Still great fun this thing. Full throttle everywhere yet somehow relaxed toddling along while people smile at you. Can't beat it for smiles per bhp. :iconmrgreen:

Oh it is a heap. :iconmrgreen:

It's 54 years old, completely unrestored, various bits are a bit worn or loose.

On the other hand it tops out at about 40 mph without a hill or a tail wind, so it's not that big a deal.

Which is pleeennnntty fast for 120mm drum brakes. :iconmrgreen:

And it is absolutely a giggle.

I'll fit on anything I want to fit on. :iconmrgreen:

Nice enough a day to put some more miles under the red bikes wheels . . .
