Austin's A-Z challenge

Here we go.....

First off Jubilee Tower. Just 3c up there today so a quick snap from Anne before she plugged her heated jacket back in. Jubilee Tower is on the Trough of Bowland Road a few miles south of Lancaster on a clear day you can see Morecambe Bay like a map, the Isle of Man, North Wales, and the cumbrian fells. Its a great viewpoint. It was built to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria.

F = Ferrari. Just an opportunistic shot of a Ferrari Parked on someone's drive as we rode past.

H = Hairpin Bend. On the minor road from Littledale to erm nowhere. The inside is very steep and many vehicles require two bites at this one to get round.

B = Brewery. Lancaster Brewery which brews four fine ales that can be really difficult to find in Lancaster. They do 4 standard Ales: Blonde, Red, Black and Amber. Any of which is worth a try bottled or on draught. The brewery fairly recently moved from near the town centre to Lancaster Leisure Park - which is one of the yucky places with flea markets, "you know who's" seconds shops, crappy cafes, naff gift shops, and so on. Yet the place is thronging.

I've got one or two ideas... And a "new" bike to show off. :) If only it'd stop bloody freezing to let the patches of ice on all the interesting roads melt.

If/when I get a bike again, I'd like to give it a try!

Well, when you are both ready start a new thread and get some pics posted. It got us out on Saturday and gave us somewhere to go and it was just above freezing as well.

Oh, and I see they have nicked this idea over on the ABR forum but doing their own A-Z list.

I'll be having a stab at this in due course.

I did pop out on Saturday (collected the vstrom from a couple of recalls) so it'd be rude not to give it a run out. Lancs, Gtr Manc, Yorkshire, Derbyshire & Cheshire all within the 110 mile ride - bloody freezing, freezing fog over the tops & I'd disconnected my accessories so only the heated seat to give warmth. Thoroughly enjoyable!

I'll get at it eventually. But so far I've only been able to sneak out a couple of times this year between bouts of freezing rain (ugh!).

A couple to add from today's ride to meet Andy.....

M = Military. On the access road to RAF Spadeadam - serious stuff would seem to go on here. I went up the road a little further to find a parked up military vehicle in a lay-by ahead and decided I didn't fancy getting stopped. There is a minor road that skirts the main ranges which are dotted with concrete tank profiles for target practice I assume along with other buildings. RAF Spadeadam was were the UK space programme "Blue Streak" was pioneered. Well worth a trip up there if you have time especially all the way up the minor road to Chirnsike.

L = Livestock. Some wild looking sheep on the minor road alongside the RAF Spadeadam ranges.
