If you think that was bad, try this -

Motorcyclist sent flying over handlebars in sickening 60mph somersault after 'hit and run' captured.

From the story -

"The incident was reported at 9:40am on Sunday 17 July shortly after it took place.

"The 24-year-old motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and damage was caused to the motorcycle.

"The car involved in the collision with the motorcycle was said to be a silver coloured Volkswagen Passat which did not stop at the scene.

"Police are now keen to speak to the driver of the car and ask that they call 101 along with anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have any information in connection with it."

Not exemplary riding from the downed biker - but to drive off after a very obvious collision?!

That last one could still be good old incompetence coupled with obliviousness. A common pitfall, trying to overtake someone who is themselves waiting for a chance.

Though if that was intentional then string the guy up for attempted murder...

Spot on, I said as much on ukgser. Driver should have stopped though, unforgivable.

The DPD one was also posted on ukgser and some on there are blaming the biker, go figure.

I saw the same accident as Lutins post going down the side of loch ness bike overtaking a car that went for an overtake without looking. the biker tragically died . I had my wife on the back she was so upset we turned back to home. I am always wary of that situation now.

I remember that if it was about three years ago ?
Knew the guy well, good rider, just one of those things. Unfortunately the A82 is dodgy in tourist time

Think it was maybe more like 4 or 5 years back - but I do remember the wreck of the bike looked a sports bike and the car was a vw polo or golf driven by a woman ,the rider probably late 40's.she had pushed him into the cliffe wall that runs at the side of the road. It was really tragic .

Well, took a run up the same road today with the wife on the back. I lined up for an overtake just outside the Clansman. Held back a bit, and the twat in front overtook another car. it was obvious he blatantly didn't see me, but no worries, I was far enough back to cancel my move and I was in too good a mood to chase him.

I'm sure these twats are looking for Nessie half the time, trying to see a bit of the loch between the trees.
I like that road off season though, but during the season, it's a bit sketchy.
