NC750X

The NC's have been around for 2 years now, I've always liked the idea of them but have been put off by reports of low power/low revs and always hitting the rev limiter.

The new for 2014 NC750 is supposed to address this by being 75cc bigger, more power and altered gearing.

Today I took both the 700 and 750 X for a demo ride.

The 700 was kitted out with accessory bars and the larger 'touring' screen, which like any other larger screen increased wind noise and buffering at helmet level.
The bike itself was a pleasant enough ride and I didn't find myself hitting the limiter, the suspension being firmer than the Alp had a budget feel to it.
Being a 'road' bike, I found my B road cruising speed had increased by 15mph compared to the Alp, which I was slightly surpised about because the ride was an uneventful bimble.

The 750 had a noticeable increase in power over the 700, it felt like a fairly rapid bike in the first four gears which then calmed down leaving 5th and 6th as overdrive gears.
I rode the same route as the 700 but found myself enjoying the 750 more, the uneventful bimble had turned into a faster ride.
The standard screen was acceptable but the front of the NC doesn't provide the same weather protection as the TA.
The 750's seat was firmer and gripper than the 700's, making for a nice comfortable ride.
I'd like to try the 750 again on a more extended test.

Watch this space.

Thanks for the repoer. Quite fancy one of the 750s with the DSG gearbox. May be visiting Grantham Honda shortly with the current Honda for a reccall.

Hi John, you test riding again :rolleyes2:

Interesting comparison between the two, I found the 700s to have a pleasant enough engine but the rest of the bike was unbelievably dull with cheap, choppy suspension.

A cb500x would make an interesting comparison ;)

Yep, been test riding again.

Took a CB500X out a couple of weeks ago, it's a real shame they've limited it for the A2 cat.

If they did a full fat version (think the old CB500 had 57bhp) it would be a blast.
