RD07A C Spanner for rear shock...

Can anyone tell me what C spanner I need to get for my genuine rear shock please. I asked at Honda last week and they produced a few different versions. They didn't have one listed in the tool kit section, so I guess the bike doesn't come with one. The locking ring and adjuster ring look different, so does one C spanner fit both rings?

Thanks, Loggy.

I've perfected the art of smacking the rings with a copper drift and a suitable sized hammer :thumbsupanim:

The use of a copper drift stops the rings getting all mashed up.

Works on Transalp 650's as well :D

As Steve says just slacken off the top ring with a drift

Spray the rings and the bottom of the spring with WD40 or GT85 a day or 2 before

Once you have loosened the top ring you can reach your hand underneath and grab the spring. You can rotate by hand to adjust

Clockwise (with the threads) will let the bottom ring compress the spring adding preload, then just rotate the locking ring down and tighten up - 5 minute job - simples and much easier than trying to wield a C-spanner in a very limited space

5 threads at a time gives enough to notice a difference (trust me I've done this several times when changing tyres and settings to match)
