Touratech Tank Bag to fit R1200Gs or GSA

Very well used, a bit scruffy and dirty but still fully functional. Includes front and rear fittings and waterproof cover (which does work). The inner supporting/shaping plastic insert doesn't fit properly anymore and has some holes in it but still does its job.

£15

Silly question (the only kind I do :D) , but do you think I could secure that to the F8GS?

And am I missing something, in that you've shifted your big beemer and are now shifting wots left?

Still got the beemer. No plans to change yet, in fact I am going to dig very deep and get some fancy Wilber's shocks. ESA too, so VERY very expensive so it is staying for another 2-3 years at least.

Fit an F8? Probably could be......the large bit of velcro goes between seat and (conventional) tank attaching to a bracket on the 1200 but could attach to any suitable point. The back of the tank bag velcros on there. The large velcro is therefore a permanent fit on the bike. The smaller bit of velcro with the zip is also a permanent fit to the bike and goes between the front of the tank and the steering column with some velcro and hooks onto something like the lip of the tank (on a GS there's something like a oil line to hook onto) The tank bag zips onto this. Zip it first, then pull back and velcro the rear on. Nice and tight and secure. The tank bag is shaped for a conventional big trailie humped tank. I am sure TT will have instructions on their website somewhere. In fact here it is (updated version of the tank bag by adding a few bells and whistles but not changing its overall fitment). http://shop.touratech.co.uk/tank-bag-hi ... ected.html

Thanks for the info Austin.

Took a look at the fitting instructions on the TT site - I'll sleep on any decision and let you know tomorrow

OK, no problem. When I say permanent fit its semi-permanent in actuality as it only takes few seconds to remove the whole lot, but for ease and convenience I treated it all as permanent fittings.

No. If you fit it to an 800 it covers the ignition key ( tried it ).

As it happens I have a tank bag off an 800GS only used once. If you don't decide to have Austin's let me know. ps it won't be £15. :D :D

This is your old tank bag Mike. It's only worth £15, but is perfectly ok, just battered and used - patina I should call it.

Austin,

Mikes sort of confirmed my thoughts on the way this bag would sit on the F8GS, so I'm afraid I'm OUT ;)

GLWS

And Mike - I seem to remember the sort of money you were after for the F8GS bag - yep, no where near £15 :eekicon: :thumbsupanim:

Oh okay than
If nobody else wants it I have it of you Austin. Will you be doing the Scotland run in June? I could pick it up than unless you in a hurry?

No hurry Pete, it's yours to pick up in June, but postage should only be £2-3 with Hermes if you want it beforehand.
