Wishing Nick in Canada well....

Nick has just mailed me to say that he is just home from Hospital after a long planned triple heart bypass operation. All is well and he is on the long road to recovery but won't be riding his bike for around 2months - so no awesome videos of Canadian back roads for a while unless he digs some out his archive.

The operation meant his planned trip to the uk for around about now had to be put on hold for a year or more but I am sure we can expect to see him pootering around the UK on a Guzzi before long.

Anyway I thought I would wish him well from here.

Thanks folks ..much appreciated. If anyone is avoiding it - don't. Just one week since surgery and I'm back on my feet (admittedly slowly and carefully). In the meantime, ride safely, eat your veggies and fruit, and hope you have good genes.

All the best

Sooo ,

You were doing all that long distance riding in isolated locations with a Long Planned Triple Bypass ?
Respect my man :respect:

Good on you, hope you get back in the saddle soon

The very day I was under the surgeon's knife, my friend Norm (famous of many tales), was heading to the other end of Ontario to deliver my MG Breva 1100 which he had just sold on my behalf - me being useless at such things. They say a fool and his money are soon parted. To prove the point I just bought this Moto Guzzi Convert. I've always lusted after one - for no logical reason. Perhaps I'll return it to near factory style.

It remains to be seen how it will handle on unpaved roads as,being automatic, there will be no engine braking. Just more fun I guess.

Are,nt you meant to be resting? ;)

I'm buying it from a friend, so I know what I'm getting and won't see it for a week or two and won't be able to ride it for longer. I celebrated 1 week back home with a 1.1km walk around our local block. Walking cures just about everything - it's rest that kills.

I like the new one nick. Complements to Eldo nicely. I am thinking that when my BM goes an older Guzzi might be required. They command high prices here though.

6 weeks since surgery, the repair is almost complete so I'm (gently) riding again. Damn - it's good to be out of the house. The Convert really tickles my fancy. It's a 9/10 on my weirdshitometer (paraphrasing MIB). This weekend I lead 20+ Guzzi riders on a 200+ mile loop around local roads. I hope they like gravel :happyspin:.

Great to see you out on the bike... nothing like it to help with recovery.

Thanks DaveS et.al. I've put over 400 miles on the Convert so far, which ain't bad since I wasn't suppose to drive until last week. It's a disease!
