Yet another day off . . . . .

Yet another day off, with the sun shinning, so the west coast it is then.

Took the tourist route around Loch Ness, cos there aint many tourist up here yet, so it can be and is fun when the roads are normally stocked with vehicles. Took a right at Invermorriston and headed towards Kyle of Lochalsh. This road rocks, with open bits that stretch your view and throttle cable in equal measure, twisty bits that get you focused in a way only twisty bits of road can, and gentle, meandering bits that calm the inner man.

Loch Cluanie

Did the mandatory photo of Eilean Donnan castle on the way past.

Took a right before Kyle and headed for Loch Carron and the Beallach towards Applecross.
Didn’t actually go down into Applecross, just did the picture thing on the way up, on the top and on the way down.

On the way up

Twisty bits near the top

View at the top

How high are we?

Going down looking up!

A view of the rear of the hills around the pass

Next I headed for Kinlochewe via Glen Torridon

Time was getting on, so instead of completing my planned route that included Gairloch & Ullapool, at Kinlochewe I headed for Achnasheen, Inverness and home.

Just under 300 miles – my longest run on the CBF so far – and all on quiet and dry roads that had the sun shining on them = SWEEEET

Bloody hell Steve, you had be as well moving up here :D :D

Picked up my van from Ardnamurchan, parked up in my driveway. Tell you what, I'll rent it out to you
Great views of the Moray FIrth, a mile from Culloden battlefield and more importantly in your case, 15 mins from loch ness and all points west, an easy bimble to the west coast.

Go on, you know you want to, neighbours are ok and know how to party

Nice pics by the way, certainly got the weather for it

Nice report. Makes me envious to read. Brother in law used his CBF for a run to Switzerland, it really performed well in the Alps, and on the routes there and back (Black Forest).

Very nice! The sunshine got me out on the bike too, Mid-Wales, Aberystwyth for a cuppa, and back via Tregaron, Abergwesyn, and over the ranges through Upper (and Lower) Chapel. I had a camera with me, but was just having too much fun to stop for photos :)
