140 MPH - Anybody we know?

BBC Stock photo.

To get 140 it'd have to be a litre sports bike at least ?

My un faired V Max was pushed to do 140 on road, an NTV ? Don't think so ! :D :D

Not necessarily liter, a modern 600 sport bike will do 140 too. The latest 1200 twins might even manage it downhill with a tailwind. Hmm. What's the terminal velocity of an NTV? :D

Depends which piston you mean really ? The one flying terminally through the front yokes or the one that exits through your a**hole dragging your n*ts with it ! :D :D :D

Yep, steel frame CBR600 FM onwards was good for over 150.

A good engine builder and the right mods it would push 100rwhp.

I think 37.75 miles was long enough.
Fixes trucks for a living, chucks bikes round the IOM, are you sure you're not Guy Martin in disguise?

Oh hang on, you don't have a Merlin engine in the garage, or do you :)

Actually an unmodified ZXR400 can do that on a straight ;) (granted it wont do much more-143/4mph until a car pulled out ahead)

According to my satnav I got 152mph out of my previous 2002 CBR600FS on the Autobahn in Germany. Wouldn't do it again, almost shat myself...

Son #2 reckons he saw 165 on the speedo of his CBR600F sport. Nearly redline in top so proper flat out.
