It has just occurred to me, it being the 18th of November, that I passed my bike test 34 years ago today.

My, how time flies. ;)

I'm sure there's no coincidence that I passed my test on the 1st of April [emoji38]

Just to make you feel a wee bit older, I was 12 days from my 7th birthday! :D

Andy will be along shortly playing top trumps with a test passed over 50 years ago or something.

Me, I passed mine 37 years and 6months ago in Wolverhampton on a blue Honda CD175.

Okay, since we're reporting what we took our tests on - a BSA D14 Bantam.

And is was so bloody cold that even though I had passed my test, I had to ride home with the 'L' plates still on as my hands and fingers were too cold to untie them from the bike.

passed my test in 1961 on a Phillips Gadabout all 2 bhp of raw power and brakes to match, the examiner jumped out well down the road for the emergency stop, probably to ensure he did not get run over!

I had an old Gadabout when I was about 13 .. used to tear around the garden on it, much to my Dad's annoyance! The one I had used a Villiers 3K engine unit.... very modern-looking with the carb and air filter in a sort of streamlined hump behind the cylinder. The pedals had gone.... I used a pair of Stilsons as a primitive kick-start :D

Nah, dodursley has me beat by 2 years. :D Took my test on a borrowed James Captain as my own bike broke down the previous day.

Andy.
