I don't know yet if i'm coming by bike or car! If I can get Ben working I will ride there but if not it's a bit far for me on my DR, in which case I will come by car and if possible would appreciate a pillion ride on the Saturday with someone, please?

Thanks :thumbsupanim:

xx

Well it's touch and go at the moment for my mode of transport on Friday. I changed the battery on Ben (all by myself :) ) and he fired up nearly first time :thumbsupanim: .....but none of my indicators were working.... took him to a mechanic today who sourced the problem to a little two pin relay - but can't get one in for me until Friday afternoon (too late!).

Anyone know where I might get a two pin relay for my Africa Twin RD03 650 before 10am Friday morning (in the Bedford/Milton Keynes area)??.

If I can't fix it in time I won't let it stop me coming to see all my friends - will just have to do it by car!

Thanks

xx

Look at a map and pick the straightest route with the fewest turns ;)

If it is the same as the RD04, I could take mine off my other bike, but I am working in Maida Vale all Thursday and heading to Bristol that evening.

Oh! Thanks Whealie - trouble is I don't know if it is the same as the RD04 and don't like the idea of going without indicators. I've put out an all points bulletin to various places for suggestions and will ring around tomorrow morning.

If there were more certainty and could organise a meet up then I'd take the risk, but rather too many 'ifs' about it at the moment.

Thanks though.

If M&P in Swansea had one & Ben would like a little ride out, if you temporarily joined those 2 connectors (bit of wire!) your indicators would be constantly on when you operated the handlebar switch. Just a suggestion  Any 2 pin 12v Honda flasher unit would work

Sorted!!! Thanks to the lovely RockOz I now have fully functional indicators.

Its been a long time since I've ridden Ben any great distance, but determined to do it :)

Are there any meeting up points arranged that I could link up with please? I can either do the M4 via Bristol route or the M50 route - it will take me about 4 hours to get as far as Newport whichever route I take!

Cheers!

I'll be leaving Pontypool 2-3pm, will have better idea in the morning, so could meet up at Abergavenny for a scenic route or Cardiff Gate Services for a horrible motorway journey. Glad you're sorted & Ben get a weekend away

Brilliant! Thanks... that timing sounds about right. I plan to leave by 10am, so would be at Abergavenny between 2 to 3pm. Is there a services or landmark in Abergavenny I can head for?

Thanks
:)

He did get me there indeed Bob. What's more we enjoyed a lovely day out yesterday and today he remained planted to the ground and got me home safely through all this rain. Viva Ben - he is the best :)

After a 7 1/2 hour ride in the rain I am somewhat cold and soggy (need to invest in some sturdy waterproof trousers) but happy with my weekend adventure.:D

Big thanks to Richie B for finding an excellent venue and to Mike for organising the event. Thanks also to Chris for cooking a lovely stew Friday night and Sharrie and Caitlin for the breakfasts and chilli (superb as always). Great ride out and great company - thanks to everyone!

It was great to meet up with friends again and a pleasure making new friends (Fiona). Hope to are you all again at the next Big Traillie event :)
