After much procrastination over Christmas and New Year, I decided to take the plunge and helicoil the damaged clutch bracket myself. A couple of videos on Youtube boosted my confidence, and it turned out to be a pretty simple job after all.
I had planned to wire in some heated grips. However, an X-wing pilot is
tough doesn't need sissy heated grips, whereas a torpedo range-and-launch control panel is a must. Now some fools might think that the torpedo range controller in this photo
looks a bit like an Oxford heated grip controller, but that would be just stupid and pathetic. The big red launch switch alongside means the panel obviously controls torpedoes, okay?
Armed and dangerous. Armed and dangerous...
I sourced a top box from LexMoto. Very cheap, and the luggage rack on top helps it to look the part.
The bike is a lot of fun to ride, and remarkably capable. The engine has sufficient torque for my needs and pulls cleanly at all revs. In due course I might replace the tyres with something a tad more aggressive, but for now that's pretty much it. Ride safe!
