I have managed a long trip a year for the last few years. For a the third time I have headed south......good weather, family visits, food.....cheap wine....Alps......all sorts of good reasons I would say.
For my next escapade.....I would like to head up north for a change of scenery. Been toying with the idea of Scotland and beyond, Orkney Islands, or another area that really draws me near is Ireland. Ideally the trip would last just over a week, without the long slogs up and down motorways if possible and with plenty of winding roads. Obviously if it was Scotland, I would not want to hang around down south for too long.
I have almost a year to plan, so no hurry but, any comments, tips, or places to see would be most welcome. I already know about the lovely weather one can expect but I am sure the beauty of these two countries far outweigh the draws back of a bit of rain......or lots of it as the case might be....
Cheers......and I hope this is the right forum for it.......if not Admin please "chastise" away.......grazie!!
