I was storing this in a friends barn and so he could use it but he wanted the space back and it was returned to me last week. I don't need it so will be selling it once I have fully cleaned it but just thought I would see if anyone wanted it here as is. So, just testing the waters....
Its a a Bowman foot operated trap. I cant see anything like it on Bowman's website so they would seem to have stopped making it. Basically its a low frame with a seat and foot pedal that cocks and fires the trap in one smooth motion. The clay(s) are put in by hand by the operator. I have tried it and it all works fine. I have a spare spring somewhere too. The spring pressure and and angle of the throw is adjustable. It will throw a single clay 50-60metres, double a bit less. It is in sound condition but the frame is scruffy with most of the paint worn off , the seat's covering and padding is torn and it all a bit loose from quite a lot of use. Nevertheless it all works fine, is simple to use and very robustly built. One day I will paint it, recover the seat and back and degrease the workings. If I do all this I will looking for around £150, as it is I would let it go £75. Whatever the buyer collects from Garstang if interested I will get it out and photograph it but is a heavy awkward thing and I can't be arsed really.
Its one of these (but very very scruffy compared to this pristine example)
as found on this web site http://www.howtobreakclays.com/claytraps.htm where it is for sale for £550 (scroll to the bottom of the page)
