Condolences from the Simpsons mate.
Once you're sorted out give us a shout mate, if you fancy it, there's a spare room up here, you can come visit and stay for a few days, enjoy Speyside in the summertime and a bit of company.

No it isn't. It's just a neccesity due to the way we have life and society set up.
When my father passed away last year two of my sisters, who have power of attorney, spent a long, long time trying to sort out my parents finances. It needed to be sorted as my mother is in care due to her alzheimer's.
As others have said we're here to help. If you need to get away (if you can choose between the many offers already given), then hop on the ferry and come over to Galway. It might not even rain.
Just read this. I would like to say something meaningfull and helpfull, but like all the others who have posted, all I can say is my deepest condolences and symphathies.
I think it takes a real hero to nurse some they love through their last days. You will allways know how much that devotion will have meant to your wife and you should be proud to know that.

Heroes are not the all-action tough guys from the movies but the people who face adversity and quietly and stoically cope with it, as you have done.
Sorry for your loss, but in many ways glad you now have the chance to build a new life on the back of all the great memories you have of the best of those 30 years.

So sorry to hear this. I didn't even know anything was wrong. May I offer you my sincere condolences to you and your family for your loss.
My grandad suffered with the big C for a long time and the last three weeks of his life he was just drugged to the hilt and wasn't even aware of anything. It was a kind of relief after he passed away that the pain had finally stopped and he was at peace. Take comfort in the good times and take time to grieve. Then maybe get out on the bike for a long trip! All the best mate.
