Fork Oil

I'm stripping the forks on the Africa Twin RD04 and fitting Progressive springs from Wirth, they recommend a SAE 10W oil,
I've still got 15W from the Varadero I'm not planning on rally stuff but worry 15 may be too viscous.

Any suggestions

Vader recommends 40% with cola, I'll not bother.

He's probably confusing fork oil with Rum. Again!

You might find 15 W a bit too much. When I changed the fork oil on the Transalp to 10W there was a definite difference to the 5W that was in previously. I suppose it would be down to how much of a faff it would be to try the 15W and change it to 10W if needed - seeing as there's no drain plug on these forks.

I've still got so much sat on the shelf from the Vara including fork seals, just had a look and they have the same part number!!!!
I cant see any one buying the oil from me so I'll use it, the worse that can happen is the seals blow

I'll let you know how it fairs up

I'd personally go for the 10w. The front might tie itself up in knots on the right (read wrong)road surface which could be a bit scary!

Then you'd need the 40% with cola
