Sadly I have to part with my beloved KTM 990 Adventure. Gutted is not the word.
One mature previous owner from new, taxed, MoT'd and approx 18,700 miles. I bought this bike through the UK KTM Forum from a chap fairly local to me. I have looked after it and added a few goodies and mods:
SW Motech Crash Bars
Oberon Clutch Slave Cylinder (original included in sale)
High Level Mudguard (original included in sale)
Black Dog Cycleworks Sidestand Relocator
CNC Front wheel spindle puller
Scottoiler
SAS gubbins removed
Secondary throttles remapped for smoother throttle response
It also comes with the customary throttle cam
MOSFET Regulator/Rectifier
Previous owner replaced front and rear exhaust headers
New chain and sprockets <1000 miles
New headrace bearings fitted <1000 miles ago
New battery <1000 miles ago
Fuel filters replaced <1000 miles ago
Serviced at 17833 miles with the proper Motorex 10W50 oil and KTM parts
Fork oil changed
Brake fluid changed
Clutch fluid changed
Tyres are TKC80 on the front and Mefo Super Explorer rear probably less than 50% worn
I keep my bikes in great mechanical order. My to be ex-wife says "obsessive" but I prefer to think of it as getting things just right. It is not immaculate and has been used as intended. There are marks on the bodywork from a sticker kit the previous owner applied but if you're fussed about that then either respray or panels do come up cheaply on eBay from time to time. Personally I think it adds to the character and it has that in bucketloads especially with the high mudguard.
This motorcycle is absolutely wonderful. I have ridden and owned all sorts of bikes over 25 years and this is the one that gives the biggest grin. It is absolutely nuts! A change in personal circumstances means it has to be sold and I will be gutted to see it go. One day I will buy another one but currently it's just another asset that needs to be turned into cash. Doh!
