So pending the full review. How does it compare to the standard 800GS.

I'm specifically thinking seat comfort and wind blast / noise

I didn't expect too much of a difference, I loved the seat on my standard 800 so wasn't hugely impressed with the standard 800gsa seat, because the height is much greater I opted for the lower seat which takes it down from 890 mm to 860 mm in comparison to the 880mm of the standard 800 gs seat. However, the width of the seat does mean my feet touch the floor in around the same spot. The seat is comfortable, is it more so than the standard, I'm not sure

Wind blast, oh my what a difference wind protection makes, I've never really ridden a bike with this much protection and it makes a huge difference. I may add just a little extender to cut the noise completely but it's massively better.

What did surprise me, and I'm not sure why is its a much better ride, the engine feels more responsive ( I know it's the same but it feels different ), it handles a little more smoothly, jay thinks the suspension may be a bit firmer but it transformed the ride, it's so much better than Delilah, and surprisingly so

Good to hear it. On my short forays on the 800 I hated the wind blast and I couldn't imagine doing hundreds of motorway or autobahn miles on it. I will take one out for a whirl sometime as it could will be a contender for the next bike.
