Bob, I have to say that's very tempting...

Have to do some maths and juggling and see if if a do'er...

Re: For Sale - KTM Adventure

In the past I've fancied an Adventure, but have always been put off by peoples comments about the level of upkeep and maintenance on them.

How to people feel on the subject? I've had numerous Hondas, were my maintenance has consisted of making sure the bike is the right way up, and occasionally throwing fuel at it.... would a KTM stand up to this sort of abuse and neglect?

Generally, the people criticising them have never actually owned one but are reporting from what a mate of a mate heard down the pub.

This is what Honda should have produced. More power, lighter, not bland, decent suspension, barking mad. Treat a KTM Adventure with a bit of respect and it'll be fine. Sure, there are odd things like clutch slave cylinders, but an aftermarket one sorts it out. You won't get one of these frying the battery, popping the electrics and hosing a CDI and rev counter or get the fuel pump points burning out. It also works properly well off-road. The difference between one of these and an AT is night and day. Ride one of these and the AT feels, well, disappointing. That's why I never rode one before I parted with my AT and I was right not to do so.

Bob,

How come you have withdrawn it from sale mate?

I couldn't do it in the end, rode it to work last week after not riding it for a month and had a big feck off grin on my chops :D

Hope he's got his leg fixed ;)

Not yet, but I've just had the x-rays 1/2 hour ago.

What are they looking for? Dry rot? Woodworm?
Try Cuprinol !

Seriuosly, though, I hope they sort you out swiftly. That KTM needs plenty of exercise.
