Taken I while gutted really and stuck for words.
Andy as it has been said was very a very private person, but as he can't bollock me now this is what I know.
When he had his blip and stopped riding I spoke to him and he said he would keep in touch. After he found his mojo again he was supposed to come down and stay with us but unfortunately we never got it organised.
He had a meet up planned in Derbyshire the weekend of the National but as it was Johns bash was going to come to Dent for a few nights prior to going down.
As you all know this never happened. When I got home I called him to see if he was ok, he was in hospital with a blockage in his bowl and was going to have an op. I did ask him to pass my number on to Dougie just in case the worst happened as Andy himself said it was a 50/50 chance because of his age.
I got a message from him on the 21/09 - Hi Simon, just to let you know I had the OP on Monday and all seems to be good at the moment ect. Will keep you up to date with progress.
I did send Dougie a message on FB sending all our condolences and saying if we had known of Andy's passing there would of been a lot of people turn up to pay their respects. He must have a block on as I have had no reply.
RIP Soup Spiller we had some great crack over the years.
