While my lad was out and about yesterday on my Africa Twin he reported that as he was riding along the rev counter suddenly died and indicators stopped working, when he came to a standstill there were no ignition lights and no life to the starter motor, It restarted with a bump but again still no rev counter or indicators. On inspecting it today it turns out the 20amp fuse in the box under the dials had blown, I replaced this and hey presto ignition lights and she fired up fine, I could smell a weird burning smell though and turned to see the rectifier glowing red and smoking quite a lot.......my guess is its broken :eekicon:
Anyway new one ordered and here's praying it hasn't knackered my recent £65.00 worth of battery

Thanks Rob for the guidance

Oh dear, that will cost your son a pretty penny. Lucky you wernt out on it at the time.

Thats how it works. Isnt it? :D

Lucky it blew the fuse yesterday, could have been a BBQ @.

What did you replace it with? 6mm bolt with the head cut off?

Check for damaged wires, otherwise the reg/rec might just blow again.
