Really keen to get up for this considering almost every other meet seems to coincide with damn work/Reserves commitments. Looks like I will be up early Saturday and leave either Sunday night or Monday morning.
:

Reserves huh? My lad (his 1st bike camp trip) will be bending your ear then .... He was going to sign up last month, by broke his leg/ankle playing Rugby last October so scuppered until later this year .

Just left Regs after 25 years. Seemed daft not to pick up the 10K incentive to take up the Reserves. Particularly as all I have to do is walk around with a stick shouting at people! :thumbsupanim:

VERY sensible option indeed ;) My lad needs LOTS of shouting at IMO, but I am his dad........ :D

Oh well that's that plan scuppered. Just spent £380 on the 36K service at Bahnstormer Alton to find I have an oil leak between the engine and gearbox. It's going to cost £320 to replace the gaskets and the earliest Saturday they can get me in is 3rd May. Why do I bloody bother with vehicles? If it's not the bike it's the damn car.

You might not receive this suggestion and still keep your equilibrium BUT . . . buy a pre fuel injection GS and do it yourself. More reliable, more fun and a heck of a lot cheaper.

However, they too have leaky crankshaft seals between the engine and the gearbox. And replacing them is still not a job you do on a sunny saturday afternoon on the pavement, at least I didn't.

They do have more personality than the 1200GS Astra though. :D

Fellas, anything over and above putting fuel in the thing and I'm lost I'm afraid. I'm the least mechanically minded person ever. Tech level one spanner in a Haynes manual is like rocket science...

Thanks for the offer Chris but the bike's fine to ride there and I'll have to babysit it whilst in the workshop.

Pete, what days/nights are you at Bishops Castle?
We were hoping to make this, even if only for 1 night but this doesn't possible.
Are you heading home on Monday or having a ride out first?

Remember to pack the thermals chaps, as the Met Office as forecasting frosty nights over the weekend.
