I'm after a ally sump guard for my early Vara. I've seen Graves of Czech do one but not been able to contact them.
Touratwat do a lower section but I think it's extortionately priced and I'd like a full guard.
Started making one and cut out a cardboard thing but need to make it out of something a bit stronger then out of ally. I'm no fabricator though and would rather just buy one :)

Depends on the thickness of the HDPE, the mounts are main let down on the vara. I've got the Africa Twin guard fitted. It helps with stones but anything of substance will bent the mounts.

That HDPE looks quite good actually but I can get ally offcuts and know a man who can tig.
I'm still putting off making one as I really can't be bothered but thought about making some new mounts myself. The guard can sit 10mm away from the bottom of the sump and just go straight up, at an angle, each side of the engine. I'll just make a bent bit of metal to the same angle as the guard.
BUT I'D STILL RATHER BUY ONE!
