My daughter's boyfriend is another team member, and gave us a brief outline of Sunday night's activities... that is, when he could keep his eyes open. He's another that didn't get much sleep before work on monday morning!
Well done, Western Beacons MR,and indeed all Mountaine Rescue teams :)
Just like to echo that.

Ban mobile phones. Problem solved :)

If it wasn't for mobile phones the ending may have been a lot worse. We have a program called SARLOC which enables us to get a position with +/- 10m accuracy. This works on mobiles, unfortunately no signal or battery and we have to do it the old fashioned way.

Well done boyos :respect:

You guys do a great job.
I know a few of the guys up here, go out in atrocious conditions, fair play to them

The way I see it is this
I think that most of the climbers these days are well kitted out, but you know yourslves, there is good kit and er, not so good kit.
A lot of the incidents up here are mainly Ft William and the Cuillins. I can see where the issues are, a few guys take a week off work from a smoke filled city down south, head up here, the weather's sh1te. Go to the pubs in the Fort during the day and wait for it to blow over. It doesn't, and by the end of the week, rather than attempt a smaller hill, they head up the Ben and of course, the inevitable happens.
I assume that they consider it a waste of time to go back home and tell their mates that they didn't actually climb any hills, just got bladdered in the Fort.

Pity, it puts a lot of lives at risk. I may be totally wrong, but just my ramblings and observations

Not a job we want you doing Craig.

Can you imagine Craig turning up in his little red hiking socks and sensible shoes, bellowing at the poor lost souls: "You've boiled my piss. Now I suppose I have to deliver you to your door?"

haha Actually, I've now got real walking boots and am enjoying walking miles with the dog, trying to get fit. I've even got walking poles ffs :eekicon:

It's quite therapeutic to just walk for miles in woodland. One thing I have noticed, which is making it more enjoyable, is my recovery time after a steep ascent has improved dramatically. :thumbsupanim:

You can only resist high fashion for so long but in the end you have to conform.

Been saying this for ages. People riding GSA's wearing bold shorts , shaving hair and swearing at people. You will all start soon.
