What would you do?

Decisions decisions.
With the Vara gone & new (ish) bike on the way, I said to V that I'd sell the little nc30 (both bikes would pay for the newer one). Thats fine in until I pull the '30 outside for a few pics to send to someone who is very interested in buying it, the deal is kinda done based on a phone call, with pics & viewing to follow.
As usual when I first clap eyes on it, it looks stunning - far from perfect cosmetically but stunning nevertheless.

It's the only bike I've ever owned that makes my heart skip when I look at it.
It's horrible & uncomfortable to ride in most real road situations, wonderful in others. We can kinda manage without the ££s it would release but the space in the garage is a bit tight.
I'd have no issues sorning it & leaving it sat there but.....

Ok all - sell or keep?

That's a difficult one alright - head versus heart.

Sorry, but I can't help - I've only the one bike after all. :mockery22:

Funny that, I'm supposed to be selling bikes to pay for Ruth's new one but just can't help finding ways to spend the funds elsewhere :)
Slightly different dilemma but one that will most likely end up with no money in the bank and one more bike than intended :)

I made that type of decision with the BSA A65LC also quite rare, it was one of a batch of 19 made officialy hence the frame and engine numbers did not resemble the production homologated road models

I had it for over 25 years but had not ridden it for a few years and only covered 11000 miles in the 10 years since restoring it. I loved it and riding was a joy but I had too many close shaves with cars pulling out in front of me or trying to cut me up on roundabouts etc. It became a space taker too.

Several restorers had been chasing me to sell this

I made the decision to sell it and Lynn did not want me to sell it but my rationale was that the person I was going to sell it to was going to ride it as it was meant and run it in the IOM TT Centenary. The money (which was not a reason for selling it) went towards a new caravan that the whole family would benefit from

As tearful as it was letting it go I still do not regret one bit the decision to move it on

I now have the RD04 that has replaced the BSA in my classic stakes but thoroughly enjoy thrashing that one about and not worried about it's ability to stop in an emergency or how much abuse it will take

Hope this helps

A hard choice Phil, I have 2 bikes on the road, one in bits and another in boxes waiting for me to collect. Sooner or later I know I will have to sell one, or move to a house with a double garage (and that will not happen) so a choice will have to be made somewhere along the line. I know this is not much help to you but you will just have to put on your sensible head  and do what you think is best. :)

Thanks for the replies all :)

I think I'll sleep on it & make a decision (or not) then.
V says I ought to sell it, as I have offered it to someone & agreed a price but what do women know ;)

It's with heavy heart I can confirm that a guy, came, bought and took the bike away :(
Still, on the bright side, thats the vstrom paid for and more importantly justified ;)
