Tony, it will not be going anywhere near a salty road, so no rush to build it, got plenty of time now that I am retired from the daily grind.

Andy.

I don't blame you for wanting to keep the bike away from salty roads - especially after all the work you're doing on it.

As for the timescale - I was just having a quiet dig at Ian and his rebuilding of Big Bird. ;)

Keep on enjoying the retirement, Andy. :thumbsupanim:

High temp paint used so it should not burn off the barrel.

Casings done in a slightly darker shade of silver to give a bit of contrast.

One of these days/weeks/months? I will get it on the road.

Some more progress today, engine fitted and a couple of overlength bolts modified.

Not doing any more as the sun has come out so I am off to try the BMW with the Hyperpro rear spring I fitted yesterday although I will not really be able to fine tune until I fit the front springs sometime next week. :)

Put the forks and wheels on today, mainly to check that the centre stand mods worked. Wheels and top yoke will have to come back off to enable me to fit other bits like oil tank, airbox, battery tray as the rear wheel has to be out to get them in. The top yoke needs painting, as does the brake pedal, gear lever and the front guard stay. Earlier tonight I placed the wiring loom in the frame, but no pics as I forgot the camera. :(

Still, it's nice to see it with the wheels on, keeps the enthusiasm going. :)

Thanks for the kind words guys, much appreciated. :)
Got a few empty spaces filled in today. Wiring loom in first then it was on to the airbox and oiltank, that took a bit longer as I knew one of them had to go in first but my memory must be failing as I fitted the wrong one and had to take it out and start again. After that slight faux pas the battery box, grab rails and the front half of the rear mudguard went on pretty quickly. :)

I also put on the headlamp stays and the front indicators and decided that was enough for today. Anyway, I need time to remember where all this bloody wiring goes.

Actually, I know it goes inside the headlight shell, that will be interesting getting all that crap back in there.
More to come soon, or at least when I can be bothered.

Odd. Usually the reservoir and the rest of the bulk are on top so they're not part of the unsprung weight. They look the business though so what do I know. ;)

Things have moved on a bit this week, casings on, rear mudguard fitted along with bars, cables and that bloody rats nest of wires in the headlight. Seeing as my new exhausts are STILL on back order I fitted the old Micron back on.

Having treated the old girl to a new battery I checked to make sure all electrics were working and then it was time to see if she would go. I made up a temp fuel system using a small filler funnel and a bit of tube, pressed the button and............she fired right away, was I pleased or what? Mind you, it was running like a sweetie before I took it to bits, so no real reason for it not to go. :)

Bit of bad news today, my paint guy told me he is off tomorrow for 2 weeks in Hungary, bugger, no consideration these chaps. ;) Still, that gives me plenty of time to rub all the bits down ready for him coming back.

PS. I only had these few bits left over. :eekicon:

Mind you, I did replace all the casing screws, battery box, air box and grab rail, mudguard, chain guard bolts and new shock fittings so whats in the boxes are all scrap.................I hope.
