Tock.

Picking it up tomorrow.

Ooh, what a tease! :D

Edit: Well, it says a lot about your recovery that you're back on a bike.

Yup. Physio is done, too. Not quite 100% yet in the shoulder but that'll take a lot of time. Changing a lightbulb on my tippy toes is still a bit tricky. But for most practical purposes I'm good.

Still a bit of stamina to rebuild, mind...

Excellent timing: Weather forecast is a sunny 26 degrees C for tomorrow, and I'm picking up a bike with a bloody great fairing... :D

Hmmm. Sympathy?

Nope! :mockery22:

Then again, is something like this really that much better? :D

Oh yes. In the classic Battlestar grey too
Looks like they had a tin of paint from the Bismark spare :D

Right.

A couple of things:

1. Yes, it gets bloody hot behind there, mostly the legs as there's no wind on them but plenty of hot air coming off the engine.

2. This thing feels like it should have at least 8 gears instead of 5. By the time you're doing 50 kph you're in 5th gear, doing barely 2000 rpm, which feels like the most natural thing in the world for this engine. From there on out it's like a twist&go and it goes to 8500 rpm.

3. And man, this thing goes. On the GS with all of 60 bhp and half a fairing I was in the habit of just pegging the thing on overtakes. On this one if I peg it I'll be doing 160++ kph before I know it. I'm going to have to learn to be more subtle with the right hand... :D

4. It is a big boat though. Got stuck in traffic immediately, filtering works well enough once I'd got somewhat used to the size. If the mirrors go through I'm good, which is easy enough. :)

Yeah. Like it. It's not really an exciting bike as such but it's a good utilitarian thing to do a shitload of miles on without wearing out the fun bike on the non-fun stuff.

Well the subframe is slightly bent, but not enough to fuss over.

As long as it doesn't connect anything important to anything else important you'll be fine. :D

Starting to look ok from the seat...

It just wheelies like a complete bastard whenever you even think about sitting down.
