cold, yes, around 0 or 1 degree but to be honest not too much of a problem, the jacket I have is amazingly good temperature wise, once all the liners are in, and I was wearing only a T shirt and thin roll neck sweater underneath it
. The leather motorcycle trousers are fine down to about this temperature, but had I been going further afeild or at motorway speeds I would have put waterproofs over the top as a wind cheater. Bering winter gloves, in conjunction with the hand guards on the xc and heated grips are up to the job so long as I make regular stops. This is the first time i have run the heated grips at full bore though
. the BIG problem is the feet. bloody frozen after half an hour and no way of warming them. I definately need new boots if I'm going to do this sort of thing very often. Looks like that's the Christmas list sorted then...
No salt on the roads, not on these back roads anyway. it's ok in the dry but you need to be very careful in the sheltered bits...
